The aim of establishing FutureSoc is to develop a research area that focuses on short- and long-term social changes, including those caused by the development of modern technologies (e.g. biotechnology and information technologies), as well as changes resulting from the impact of empirical research, including cognitive science and behavioural sciences, on research, including cognitive science and behavioural sciences, on research, including cognitive science and behavioural sciences, on conceptual categories, methodologies and models used in social sciences.

The establishment of the FutureSoc PRA based on the six above-listed university units aims at creating a conducive research ecosystem, where university units aims at creating a conducive research ecosystem, where academics, regardless of their faculty affiliation, can carry out joint research in accordance with the 4I principle adopted for the Excellence Initiative – Research University program: Interdisciplinarity, Innovation, Internationalization and Integration. The PRAs are to carry out JU’s threefold mission: in terms of research, education (introducing innovative educational tools based on research) and society (integrating research with the needs of the socio-economic environment). The aim of our PRA is therefore primarily to support initiatives that will contribute to increasing research interdisciplinarity and internationalization, the international recognizability of our university, as well as innovation and building bridges between knowledge and society.
