Glocal Challenges Lab (GCL)
Glocal Challenges Lab (Global social, economic and cultural challenges. Globality and localness) is a community of ambitious scholars, focused on issues that constitute challenges for an evolving society in the geographical space.
GCL is concentrated on – but not restricted to – challenges shaping the contemporary geographical space, such as:
-
economic challenges (digitalisation and virtualisation in business, new types of business activities and their influence on society and economy; low-emission transport);
-
demographic and social challenges (social and economic implications of ageing societies; changes in social relations and their influence on economy; activisation and social participation in the process of creating inventive workplaces and leisure areas; migration crisis);
-
spatial challenges (the processes of space management; metropolitan spaces and suburbanisation; territorial systems; sustainable development of cities; conflicts stemming from the coexistence of various functions of varied degrees in the geographical space);
-
leisure challenges (unification and individualisation of consumption patterns; responsible consumption; virtual reality and singular or collective usage of free time; expectations, motivations, experiences, satisfaction linked to travels in the context of new forms and trends in travelling).
-
cultural challenges (today's society and old, preserved cultural landscapes; multiculturalism and various degrees of political actions).
